I have the good fortune to be a full time painter. I paint primarily in plein air, however studio work has become a large part of my painting experience. Painting outdoors helps lay the ground work to do better paintings in the studio, one compliments the other. Part of painting outdoors for me is travel and the visual stimulation the new locations bring to a painter. New locations bring challenge but also great pleasure and accomplishment when you are successful with a painting. I frequently use outdoor studies along with photographs to do larger paintings in the studio. I find it difficult to do a studio piece if I have not been to the location to paint. Painting from life gives a painting an energy that is exciting. I paint locations in
California, Arizona, New Mexico, Wyoming and many European
locations. I have painted locations in France, Italy and Belgium.
Painting in Monet’s Garden, VanGogh’s le cloitre, Cezanne’s studio
and many other European sites painted by the Master’s is this
artist’s dream come true. I spent 20 plus years in the graphic arts field and now I am doing what I love, painting! I was featured in Southwest Art Magazine’s Artist’s to Watch column in October 2005. My paintings are sold internationally. Galleries Sedona Arts Center, Sedona Arizona El Presidio, Tucson
