Arizona Plein Air Painters- "Painter's View"

After hearing the disappointing news that the West Valley Art Museum is out of funding and closing,  the APAP board is sorry to say that our "Painters View" at the Museum will be canceled.  Do not bring your artwork to the museum as planned.
We want to ask all the artist's that were accepted into this show to please hold onto your artwork as we are working hard to secure the new venue for a replacement show to be held in November, 2009.   The details are being finalized on the new location and schedule of events and they will be sent out to you. Please let other friends in APAP know not to come to the Valley next weekend, to be sure we are able tokeep everyone in the know.

Thank you for your patience,  we were totally taken by surprise by this turn of events.  The art community has lost another wonderful venue for artists' and art lovers.

APAP April Newsletter

The APAP Board of Directors has decided to discontinue the two levels of general membership. We have found that it has not provided the benefits
to members that we anticipated.
Effective May 1, 2009 we will no longer require a jury process for
artist members. Members that are currently listed as associate
members will automatically become Artist Members.
To assure top quality events we will jury most shows.
We will however, seek out opportunities for occasional non-juried shows
so that all members will have an opportunity to participate in an APAP show.

PAINT OUT WEEKEND AT THE FLAGSTAFF ARBORETUM JUNE 27, AND JUNE 28
All
Arizona Plein Air Painter members will be invited to paint for 2 days at the arboretum in Flagstaff.  Here's the plan:  You can paint one or both
days, immediately frame and hang whatever you complete, and  leave your work - possibly as many as 3 paintings, (depending on size - one large one equals 2 smaller ones and an additional one would be a back up piece)  until July 31st. (A convenient date for pickup as that is the start date for the Hart Prairie Nature Conservancy Paint-out).  The show will be in the main entrance lobby, sales are handled through the gift shop.  We are limited to the first  20 artists to email back their commitment.  Sign ups must be strongly confident that you will attend, so that we will be sure we have enough artists who will paint, and hang enough work. The best sales have been of flowers and using smaller canvas sizes. Work will be sold off the wall to visitors. Contact person:
Linda Dellandre  at  dellandw@yahoo.com for more info.
