Arizona Plein Air Painters
Mission Statement
The Arizona Plein Air Painters is established
as a state-wide fellowship of artists who are dedicated to
practicing and promoting the tradition of plein air painting. The
organization works to protect public access to landscapes and
historic areas within the State that are important to this
tradition. The organization understands the importance of art
education and seeks opportunities to form partnerships with private
and government organizations to support and strengthen the arts.
Members seek excellence in the pursuit of honestly interpreting the
diversity of Arizona’s landscapes, history, and cultures. Members
strive to mentor emerging artists and share their expertise with
fellow professional artists in order to maintain the highest
standards of artistic endeavor. The organization sponsors local
paint-outs and shows that provide opportunities for new artists to
embrace painting from life. Annual state- wide shows and other
events serve to showcase the beauty of Arizona, the excellence of
member’s artwork, and the importance of art to the quality of life.
The art of APAP members, the partnership and educational programs
they support, and the programs they conduct, will contribute
significantly to capturing and documenting the beauty and history of
Arizona. |
